How do you change jobs when you don't know what you want to do? That's the question that I was asking myself, feeling trapped in a job that didn't feel right.

There was plenty of help out there for writing my CV and covering letter, or honing my LinkedIn profile. But actually figuring out what I wanted to do...

I spent a lot of time reading inspiring articles about career change. This had the effect of making me feel fired up and enthusiastic... but all too soon the feeling would fade and nothing had changed. I spoke to recruitment consultants, but they offered more of what I was doing. And I would look at jobs listings to find that either a) on closer inspection they were less exciting than on first view or b) I wasn't qualified and would have to completely retrain.

What I yearned for was a community around me that would validate how I was feeling. Where I could bounce ideas around. And who would support me to change careers. And that's where the idea for Career Change Crew came from.

It started with a book club: Career Change Book Club, bringing together people from around the world to discuss career change. Then in 2021 we ran the first in-person Career Change Crew, bringing together a group of people excited and committed to making a change.

Career Change Crew is on a mission to work together to move into enjoyable and fulfilling work.

Here's the approach:

  • Face to face workshops (we're all bored of zoom!)

  • A focus on making progress in the real world (some introspection is useful, but you don't learn the piano by thinking about it)

  • Be part of a supportive, like-minded community
